Baja Whales Itinerary

Day 1
Your adventure begins in Downtown Cabo with an Ocean Safari searching for Humpback Whales. Cruise through the waters near the iconic Arch of Cabo San Lucas, where humpback whales migrate in abundance. As you approach the arch, keep an eye out for breaching, tail slaps, and other dramatic behaviors of these magnificent creatures. The rugged landscape and vibrant blue waters create the perfect setting for this once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounter. Afternoon – Ground Transfer to La Paz After your exhilarating whale-watching adventure, you’ll be transported by ground to La Paz. This scenic drive offers spectacular views of the Baja Peninsula’s coastline, and upon arrival in La Paz, you’ll check into a boutique hotel for the night. 

Day 2
Swim with Whale Sharks & Sea Lion Snorkeling Early Morning – Swim with Whale Sharks Rise early and head out on a thrilling adventure to swim with the gentle giants of the ocean—the whale sharks. These massive yet peaceful creatures are the largest fish in the world, and you’ll have the incredible opportunity to snorkel alongside them in the waters of La Paz. Experience the awe of swimming next to these majestic beings as they glide through the crystal-clear waters, feeding on plankton.  Next, we’ll set sail to the stunning Espiritu Santo Archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage site, home to one of the largest populations of sea lions in the world. At Los Islotes, you’ll have the chance to snorkel with hundreds of curious and playful sea lions. These charismatic creatures will swim alongside you, offering unforgettable close-up encounters as you explore the vibrant underwater world. Afternoon – Embark on Your Expedition Yacht After a morning full of excitement, it’s time to board your luxurious expedition yacht. This vessel is your floating home for the next few days, complete with comfortable cabins, ensuite bathrooms, and plenty of space to relax. As the yacht sets sail toward Loreto, keep an eye on the horizon for sightings of marine life, including dolphins and the occasional whale.   Enjoy the scenic beauty of Baja as you head toward Loreto, with the possibility of encountering more marine life along the way.

Day 3 & 4
Exploring the Sea of Cortez For the next two days, you’ll sail through the vibrant waters of the Sea of Cortez, known as the "Aquarium of the World" for its incredible biodiversity. Your expert naturalists and crew will be on the lookout for whales, dolphins,  and an array of other marine life. Take in the stunning views of Baja’s desert landscapes, isolated islands, and crystal-clear waters while keeping your camera ready for incredible wildlife sightings. During the day, you can relax on deck, enjoy onboard amenities like the hot tub and spacious lounging areas.  . Late Afternoon – Sail Back to La Paz After two days of sailing and whale watching, your yacht will make its way back to La Paz.

Day 5
Gray Whale Adventure at San Ignacio Lagoon Morning – Charter Flight to San Ignacio Lagoon In the morning, it’s time for the highlight of your Baja adventure: San Ignacio Lagoon. After a short charter flight, you’ll arrive at one of the world’s premier gray whale watching locations. This remote lagoon is known for its incredible gray whale encounters, where the whales often approach boats, allowing for intimate interactions.  These incredible creatures are known for their curiosity, often swimming up to the boats and allowing guests to touch or observe them up close. This experience is truly one of the most magical wildlife encounters you’ll ever have.

Day 6  & 7
Full Days of Whale Watching and Desert Magic For the next two days, you’ll have the privilege of two full days of whale watching. In the morning, embark on more whale excursions, where the whales, sometimes even as playful as they are curious, will approach your boat—sometimes breaching, sometimes rolling, and always giving you an intimate experience with their immense beauty. Back at camp, you’ll savor locally inspired meals, crafted to keep you energized for your adventures. Your days will be filled with whale watching, nature walks, and stargazing at night. As the sun sets over the desert, the sky fills with an array of stars, offering you a serene escape in the midst of nature’s wonders. The peaceful solitude of the desert, combined with the awe of the whales, creates an experience that will stay with you long after you return home.

Day 8
Final Whale Encounter and Return to Cabo On your final day, enjoy one last morning of whale watching in the calm waters of San Ignacio Lagoon. This final trip is your opportunity to deepen your connection with the whales, savoring the peaceful serenity of the lagoon one last time before you depart. Afterward, you’ll return to the private airstrip, where your charter flight will take you back to the San José del Cabo Airport. From here, your journey comes to a close, but the memories of Baja’s desert beauty and the unforgettable whale encounters will stay with you forever.
